I had an absolutely incredible experience at a traditional ryokan in Kusatsu. The ryokan was completely renewed and the room was adorable. The meals served in the room were incredible, and the owners were really nice. The private onsen was a nice touch. It was just a short walk from the bus station and the yubatake. This ryokan was by far the best I've ever stayed in. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel offers an amazing traditional Japanese experience. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help with a big smile. The location is key, as it's only a few minutes' walk to the main attractions. The hot springs are excellent, and the fact that they are open 24/7 is a big plus. The food is delicious, especially the dinner served in the room, it was an unforgettable experience.
The beds were a bit hard, which took some getting used to. The private onsen was quite small, which made it challenging to completely relax.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed. the value for money was exceptional, with prices that were lower than other similar establishments. Secondly, the location was perfect, just a short walk away from the main attractions in the area. Additionally, the attention to detail in the rooms, including having your own bathroom, was wonderful. Lastly, the breakfast provided was delicious and a great way to start the day.
All was more than satisfactory, no improvements necessary.

This hidden gem was a perfect stay near the famous attraction and scenic place. the room was spacious with tatami mats and comfortable futons. the private onsen was an amazing experience, available whenever we wanted. the traditional breakfast was served hot and was delicious. the staff was friendly and accommodating. We were just a short walk to the center of town, making exploring easy.
If you have a lot of luggage, you may want to consider taking a cab from the bus terminal as the walk to the hotel is a bit hilly.

We loved our stay in this mountain ryokan. The hotel facilities were completely renewed and the room was adorable. We also enjoyed the warm private onsens and the wonderful Japanese food provided for breakfast. The staff's limited English didn't affect our wonderful experience; they were charming and attentive to our needs. This hotel was very close to everything, only five minutes away on foot from the bus station and less from the famous attraction and scenic places.
There was nothing we didn't like.

Spent Xmas at a ryokan in the mountains. Food was good and staff were friendly. Loved soaking in the hot springs despite the outdoor pool being small. Rooms were clean and spacious. Location was great, a short walk from the town's hot springs district.
Although the staff were friendly, there was a language barrier that made communication difficult at times. the hotel was quite old and could use a bit of sprucing up.
